I recently experienced a disappointing situation with a car purchase. After having put down a $2,500 deposit, I decided to cancel the purchase. I was assured that a refund was forthcoming. However, after patiently waiting for three weeks, I have yet to receive any reimbursement. Even after speaking to the sales representative, who confirmed that the finance department had processed the refund, the money remains conspicuously absent from my account. It's a significant amount that's being withheld, which has resulted in a disappointing and inconvenient experience.

I worked w Sean Trecker who was exceptional. Not only did he provide access to all Toyota had, but it extended to the US-wife AutoNation suite of services. He also simplified the trade in process on my current car which eased heartburn for my family and I. Overall this was as simple as buying a car could be. I will be using AutoNation again.

I worked with Mobi on a car that was not yet at the dealer. He was able to give me all the necessary information via email, negotiate with me on a price that makes sense for both of us, and keep me updated on the status of the car build and delivery. Happy to have worked with him and recommend going to him for buying a car at Toyota in Libertyville! The main reason I am providing 3 stars is because the financing manager added on over 1.2k worth of dealer add-ons to the price sheet and said these are non-negotiable and come with the car. I did not agree to any dealer add-ons over email. Thankfully, I was able to negotiate getting most of these removed except for $155 for wheel locks. These dealer add-ons should be optional and discussed with the consumer, not added on to a newly built car without client approval. It is just a way for the dealership to make additional cash and shows a lack of transparency if not communicated online.

It was noticed that the filter should also be changed so he texted me in the waiting room. I agreed to change the oil filter. I requested a "Drive Pink" license plate frame. He had one and replaced my broken one after the car was washed. I have been buying Toyotas from this dealership since 1987 and trust the service department.

The customer service rep was just giving me a bunch of bs and had little knowledge of what the issue was. I’m not even sure he knew how to relay information from the technician properly. Luckily, my husband knew beforehand what the issue was and took a video of the loose heat shield that needed securing. The customer rep said, “the tech said all our vehicles heat shields were secured and the loose one must have flown off the vehicle and is no longer an issue.” I responded with which one is missing, he said he had no idea but it’s gone so nothing to do. I asked the tech and he said that’s not what he said. I then showed him the video and he was shocked like he hadn’t even checked our vehicle at all. Finally after showing the technician what I needed him to do to my car, he took the car back again and secured the heat shield. I paid for the labor and went to the pickup desk to pickup my vehicle and the guy working proceeded to complain to me about why he wasn’t able to “wash” my vehicle because the other guy left to go eat and hasn’t came back….blah blah. I said just give me my f-ing keys. 🤦🏻♀️

I have had service over many years with this dealership. Everything went smoothly as usual except at check in. I had an 8:30 appointment and when I arrived I was informed I would have a 2 hour wait because they were overbooked. Around 10:20 the technician informed me that my car was examined and would need brake pads. That would be 90 minutes. I agreed to wait for that to be done. I feel someone should investigate why they were overbooked.

When I came for my interview, I learned the position didn't exist and was instructed to follow up in 6 months which will not be happening. I expected a lot more from this company as I had purchased a vehicle from this very dealership in the past. What a way to represent the brand. Be aware! After being presented a price, signing a price agreement and putting a payment down on a RAV4 and then waiting 7 weeks for the car to arrive from the factory, the general manager wanted to add another $3K to the already agreed upon price. Make sure you get a countersigned price agreement if you ever order a car from this place. Sad, I had a great experience working with the sales person up until we came to pick up and pay the balance on the car. Was put in a position of negotiating the price back to what was already agreed to.

I was not happy with my recent Service experience at AutoNation Toyota Libertyville. I changed my own oil this time, and shockingly found that the previous oil change from Libertyville Toyota did not include the oil filter. The cartridge was EMPTY! I called and spoke with the service manager, Carlos, who did not believe me, and tried to tell me that oil pressure lights would come on. I drove for 7000+ miles with no oil filter. All Carlos could offer was a free inspection and 2 free oil changes for their "mistake". When I brought the car for the inspection, Carlos was treating me nice, and the inspection showed no damage (of course). I will not be going back for any kind of service, because I cannot trust their mechanics. It is a shame as my family has been a customer since 1996, and have purchased 8 brand new cars and 3 used cars here over the last 27 years. So now I will no longer bring any business to this dealership.

Deceptive business practice at Toyota Service. I do not recommend getting your vehicle maintenance done here. I came in to get a maintenance job done on an unusual noise I've been hearing and i suspected it was a wheel bearing going bad. they said they'll charge me 169.95 for the diagnostics and said if i choose to make the repair they'll deduct it from the final invoice. I got the diagnostic done and agreed to replace the wheel bearing. They had to order parts so i had to come back next week and i was told the diagnostic will still be deducted from the final invoice. I came back next week to get the finish the repair. I paid the invoice and only saw $100.00 was deducted and they told me it's because the original quote for the repair was a lot higher than the final invoice. Conclusion- I did not get the full amount of the 169.95 applied to the final invoice as promised and the repair job they did, i was not satisfied. I was still hearing the same noises I brought the vehicle in for repair after i drove off and I refuse to come back for their business. Never again will I ever come back here.

Full disclosure: I live 50 miles from AutoNation Libertyville. When I purchased it there, I had no plans to return for regular maintenance and service. It's just so far, and several Toyota dealerships are closer to me. However, after seeking service and several other places, they just don't compare to the level of service I have always received from AutoNation Toyota Libertyville. In addition, the people make a difference. I have experienced less than stellar customer service at the other dealerships. And so, I go where I know I will be treated with courtesy, fairly, and like my business and dollars are appreciated. Besides, the work and attention to detail is fantastic. And, if any mistakes or missteps are made, they have always been quick to resolve them in a mutually-fair way. So, I take the 50-mile drive for an oil change or parts replacement or whatever level of service I need, because it's worth it.

Car dealerships are always soul sucking and exhausting. Giant screens, grey everywhere, time doesn't seem to pass. Should the waiting areas look more like a cozy coffee shop and less like a OR? yes. But they don't. Well, sometimes you have to be at a dealership, and this is the one to be stuck with. The staff here are nice. Really nice. Lukas in sales and Tony in service really made my experiences here, so far, excellent. Here and there everyone else I've talked to seems nice too. I'm guessing they are well treated by their management, based on the vibe of the staff.

I would like to say before today I had great service but today, Robert was completely inappropriate when dealing with my maintenance warranty work. I will not be back and if you have to deal with him, RUN! To quote him when I told him I had a warranty maintenance contract, he states “Unbelievable!” “Why didn’t you tell me this before now!” Well I was told it was in the computer from my last visit 5,000 miles ago. Excuse me?! As a nurse AND a breast cancer survivor I’ve dealt with my fair share of jerks for no reason at all. But seriously this? You need my business way more than I need yours because there’s another dealer around the corner!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Toyota service department, particularly with Rob. As a loyal customer who has purchased two cars from this dealership and always had my services done there, I was shocked and disheartened by the level of unprofessionalism and unpleasantness I encountered. Despite having made an appointment, Rob was uninterested in helping me and seemed to be put off the whole time, completely ignoring me, which was incredibly frustrating. As a loyal customer, I expected better treatment and professionalism from the Toyota service department, but i had to . I have always recommended this dealership to friends and family, but after this experience, I am hesitant to do so in the future. My family member purchased a Rav4 at end of Nov, 2022 and did NOT receive a second key. Dealership claimed that the second key will be sent by mail "shortly". It is now middle of April, 2023, almost 5 months after purchase, and they still did NOT provide the second key. Nothing was sent in the mail and no delivery date in sight.

It's an awfully tough time to buy a car. I wonder if dealerships are permanently changing how they do business. However, these guys at AN-Libertyville were pretty straightforward with me. And specifically Dimitri!! That's how they won my business I was open to several types of cars - the usual suspects ... Honda, Hyundai, KIA etc. Some of those experiences were HORRIBLE. Dimitri and AutoNation Libertyville were genuine with me throughout the entire process. They communicated well and I feel did the best they could in the environment the carmakers have created for them. The price was generally within what we discussed on the first day I walked into the dealership. And I appreciated how they reasonably kept in contact with me until the car I wanted arrived. Oh, and btw, my RAV4 Hybrid exceeded my expectations. Thanks Dimitri!! And thanks to the dealership. One more thing: To several of the dealerships near me (not AutoNation of course), WHAT ARE MANY OF YOU THINKING with some of the cheap sales tactics you use? We're in the Chicagoland area, and when I find out you're trying to mess with me, I'm simply going to drive across the street, or take a 30-minute drive to the next place ... and the next place. We're not in the middle of nowhere and most of us generally know what the price should be. That's why you don't have my sale and AN-Libertyville does.

2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrids are in short supply. We put down a deposit in January 2023 and were expecting to wait 6 months or more, based on sales rep's experience. A few Hybrids became available over the next two months as reported by our sales rep. None were the model we wanted (Limited) so we waited. We were happily surprised in early April when a Limited model became available. We purchased it that day and are thrilled by the vehicle. Our sales rep, Art Fanning, was very helpful along the way, from order to purchase.

UPDATE April 13, 2023: Back to 4 stars--was almost 5. The service dept is back to being terrific! I had a great experience with Jesse O'Connor and everything got taken care of promptly. My only gripe is that when I went to get the car, the only person available to get it for me was busy chatting with a customer, and I eventually had to ask him to come over and take care of me. The car was supposed to have been washed, but wasn't, and I didn't have the time to wait for it. That was disappointing--it's a great perk if they follow through. I sent this to Toyota on Tuesday, am still waiting for a call back from the service manager and haven't heard anything from anyone at Toyota.: On 6/28, I took my Prius to Kevin Lemke to determine what part to order to repair my car. On 6/29, he said the part was in and we made an appointment for 12:30. When I arrived, however, Mr. Lemke was at lunch, and had left no instructions for anyone else other than “see Kevin.” I left the dealer for an hour, returned, and a half-hour after that, Mr. Lemke apologized, saying the wrong part had been delivered and they would need to reorder it. What kind of business does not check a part before having a customer take more than two hours out of her busy day to come in to have the part installed, and why did it take 90 minutes after I arrived to realize they didn’t have the correct part? I called the Service Manager yesterday and left a message, but nearly 24 hours later, I am still waiting for a return call. Although we have been Toyota customers for over 30 years, we are seriously considering never visiting another Toyota dealer for service or sales, unless you act promptly to compensate me for my time and aggravation. UPDATE: As Toyota requested in their response to the above comment, I called the general manager at the dealership and left a voice-mail explaining who I was and that I was calling at the request of the company. Surprise!!! No call back. That's two calls I've made, neither one of which has been returned. This company just doesn't seem to care one bit about treating their customers properly. Toyota, if you read this: What now:?

The car itself is fantastic. The car buying experience could have been much better. There was a clear disconnect between workers on the showroom floor and financing. I arrived to buy a car in full, cash. We were left waiting for an hour or two sitting around with no representative telling us what we were waiting for. The conclusion of the deal ended two days later with over a half hour wait in a finance office room with no one telling us what we were waiting for. When everything was finished: we were handed the keys and effectively left with the car. When I leased my previous car? The customer service was such that they took a photo of me with the car and made the actual pay off of the experience memorable. This exchange felt like I was buying fast food - except I wouldn't exactly wait around for hours on end to buy a cheeseburger. The entire buying experience is understandably complex and I appreciate the due diligence of paperwork and forms needed for record. But, as a customer buying his first car, I walked out of the dealership not feeling like I had a special life experience. Further, a week later the dealership messed up their own paperwork and told me I had to re-sign forms to account for their own mismanagement on a car trade in. They made me feel like I was responsible for wrongdoing when those who made the deal were shortsighted and neglected the fact that the deal wasn't finalized on a Monday but on a Wednesday. This entire process should have been straight forward: they had a car I really wanted, they have the car to sell to me, I have a car to trade in, they accept trade ins, I have cash for the complete sale, done deal. But it was arduous and made what should have been an exciting and fun moment into a slightly sour one even a week after the deal should have been out of sight and out of mind. The car is fantastic. The individuals behind the deal were nice people - they just did a bad job at their job and made a customer feel more like they were on a conveyer belt they needed to get through client by client rather than treat them like what is happening is a special, exciting moment in their life.

After an accident with a deer, our car had to be taken to a Toyota dealership for a mi or checkup. When we were sent a quote, they had added in things that should have no business being there. They claimed our mass air flow sensor was damaged and needed replacing for $700. We declined this repair as there's zero reason this would be involved in the accident, and the insurance said as much. Once we were able to look at the mass air flow sensor (that had never been touched before them), it had 1 clean screw and 1 rusty screw. Now, it may have been innocent, but something tells me that going from having a perfectly fine working sensor to a nonworking sensor with a replaced screw, something was done that was less than honest. It's too late to really do anything about this, and it took about 5 min and 1/5 the cost to take care of it ourselves. I would not recommend going to this location for repairs as we found them less than trustworthy. This was just one of the issues we encountered during our short time of the vehicle being in their shop. The other being that they were unable to provide a proper itemized quote for repairs with a header. Rather, they sent an email where someone simply typed everything themselves with no way for us to know these were legitimate costs and estimates.

The most horrible car buying experience. We met with Mathew exactly a year ago and put a deposit down for a rav 4. We were told it should arrive by summer- july the latest. We waited and finally called august. At which point the person handling our account was no longer there and Rick had our case. I was told he had no idea about us so he never called for a follow up. We told that he wasn’t the one that promised that time. He said it will be another 2-3 months- so November was the next expected time frame. November came, we never got a call so I called again. I was told now that my car will be in another 2-3 months. I was upset and questioned this - so I was asked if I wanted my deposit back!!! What a great way to handle clients. After waiting for another 2-3 months and not hearing anything back in February - I finally took my deposit back. I will never come here and make sure to tell others so they don’t have the same awful experience . I do not recommend this place!

It is a little*** frustrating when you bring your car for a quote knowing already (the car has been diagnosed elsewhere) and telling Toyota what the problem is and 2 hours later you are charged $200 for diagnostic to hear the same information!!! In fact, it’s infuriating. There is no respect for being a customer for 25 years!!! Omar later advised me via photos of 1) nail in my tire that required patching as well as 2) recommended replacement of windshield wipers. When toting up the additional expense, he realized that since I purchased the tires from AutoNation, the tire patching was complimentary. Omar has a very pleasant, positive and professional manner which was much appreciated.

Certainly distressed my wife, she cried. Root cause she wanted to use a coupon. She had to wait for around two hours and then ask the status. Supposedly he was waiting on the payment but couldn't be bothered to let her know. Very rude with the online/auto pay. Service rep said he wasn't angry but just busy. That is a petty pitiful response. So I'm annoyed because of the treatment of my wife. Even worse the rep completely failed to explain any of the things that needed immediate attention. I spent a lot of money on a fully loaded Sienna to keep my family safe (three young children) and that was compromised by the failure to execute the simplest of duties. Now I have to make arrangements to have a 3rd party fix these things (battery failure and others) when AutoNation could have had my business. Unlikely I'll make my next two vehicle purchases here let alone trust them to do routine work. I'm not sure if this is blatant gender discrimination, bias against a European accent, or utter incompetence. In any case it is a poor reflection on the owners of AutoNation, co-workers completely let down by their forward facing service rep, and Toyota's corporate image .

I have been a client since 2014, and once more I was very satisfied with my experience. Service was great: punctual, friendly, helpful and efficient. Lesly Antunez went above and beyond to help me find the car I wanted in the conditions I needed. Although it’s not easy to get a new car nowadays, one week after my first visit I left with my brand new RAV4. The manager, Donald Banas, reached out to me a few times just to know if I had any questions or needed anything. I will be back for sure, and I recommend the dealer. UPDATE I went to Autonation this week for my 2021 RAV4 maintenance service, and it was another very good experience. I was helped as soon as I stepped in the room. Tony took care of checking the car and all the details related to the service. I waited in the waiting room, which is very comfortable, offering different kinds of seating, including desks, having some of the good coffee available. Service didn’t take too long, and paying and getting the car was an easy and fast process. I recommend Libertyville Autonation both for buying and for taking care of your vehicle.

Stay away from this dealership for service if you are off warranty. In July of 2022, I made an appointment for my Prius’ 30,000 mile maintenance check. My first service appt off warranty. Upon checking in the technician gave me an estimate of $850. (Note: No inspection of the car was done). Although I thought this was high, I trusted the dealership as I’d been going there for maintenance for several years and thought I’d been treated fairly. However, I did decide not to make an appointment for future service until after I received a cost estimate. I called a few weeks ago for an estimate for my 35,000 mile check, was promised a call back 3 times with the estimate and have not received a call. That got me curious. I’d found the Maintenance Schedule in the Toyota App and compared it to the invoice I received for the 30,000 mile service appt. According the app the work needing to be done would have cost about $200. Lucky me, I got an extra $650 of unnecessary work. When I looked up some of the work done, it is recommended for 60,000 miles and up. I drive 6,000 miles a year on all paved roads. There is no way the ‘extra’ was necessary. I will be finding alternative service options. Stay away from this dealership's service department if you are off warranty.

First let me say that I'm retired and don't drive my car on a daily basis and don't take long trips, so I have less than 16,000 miles on a 10-year-old Rav4. I have always gotten my service at AutoNation in Libertyville, and I do understand that the vehicle will need some services according to length of time and not just mileage. I scheduled this most recent appointment for at least an annual oil change. I was told it also needed a Multi-Point Inspection, Four-wheel Alignment, Tire Rotation, Cooling System Inspection and Cleaning, along with a check of the battery, tires and brakes. I was told this would take two hours. It's a comfortable waiting area. About an hour in, I was shown a picture of the vehicle's water pump, which showed leakage of anti-freeze, and which would require a new water pump. This would take an additional hour. I agreed to the service and the total bill, with a $50-off coupon, came to $1,826. I'm not a cynical person so I tend to believe them and trust that the service is, in fact, necessary. I"m sure I could find someplace cheaper to do the work, but I prefer having confidence that the dealership knows what my vehicle requires and I feel that it is done right. My only complaints for this visit were: 1) After waiting more than three hours, I had to wait another 15-20 minutes to get someone to go get my car; 2) The free carwash pulled a piece of rubber molding out of it's track on the roof, and the guy actually asked me if I wanted them to fix that; 3) I actually drove away and back home without the KEYFOB in my car, and had to dig around for my spare and put a new battery in it before driving back to the dealership to retrieve the other one. Like many businesses now, it seemed like they don't have enough help. There were several cars in line coming into the service area as I was leaving.

Yesterday I did visit AutoNation Toyota. The person at front desk treated me well and assigned a sales person called Mobi Zia and I did not like the way he treated me. He talking to me as if I do not know anything about hybrid cars and left cheap comments such as "man... are you going to drive Uber with this car ha ha ha?" (I do not know what is wrong in driving Uber). Instead of providing details about the car he was was busy in driving me out of the dealership. I understand I am looking for a compact-hybrid car that is in high demand that does not mean that the sales person can treat me in cheaper way. I have never experienced good service at this location. I used to service my Scion here and they never remembered me as a customer, never washed my car even when I was asked. My Bolts on my rim were always overtightened that lead to breaking 3 of my spline drives. I stopped taking my Scion in there out of sheer disappointment. Last week I took my Tacoma in for an oil change. 2 hours later I demanded my car back since no one had come to get me. Verina was the only person who greeted me, when 3 other employees didn't even acknowledge me. I saw 3 porters get in the car and out, since it's a manual. How does someone work in a dealership and not know how to drive 1 of 2 transmission varieties? I think the only positive thing I have to say was the Wifi was free.

Worst service ever. We went to this location bc the one in Chicagoland is terrible (too), and Libertyville outgrew it! It looks like they don’t want to sell, they have a giant space full of people and no one is able to help. Since October 2022 we left a deposit to be on the waiting list for a car and we never had any updates, few times we were able to talk to someone (always different people), and our “seller” was “always busy”. Even just trying to call it’s a pain and a long time in the line. In January we decided to find another car from other dealer and get our money back, oh well… We still have no money. No email. No calls. No seller giving us attention. As a matter of fact, we were never able to even test drive any car, bc apparently they have “nothing”, even though they do, I would be happy to at least drive something similar to what I was looking for, but no. So yeah, thank god I never got this car, bc I would not want to have anything to do with them and their customer service ever again. NEVER GETTING A TOYOTA.

We are located some 140 miles away so much of our preliminary discussions were done via phone and text. We worked with Sam who was honest and very helpful. The level of customer service depends on who you talk to. I have been waiting for 9 months for a sienna that I was told would take 4-6 months. On 4/16/22 I sent in all the signed paperwork. A week later I noticed they never ran my credit card for the deposit. I emailed my sales rep, Ricky, to follow up and received a response from the sales manager, Cam, confirming the order (photo attached). To this day, they still have not run my card despite multiple other follow ups. At that time, Cam did confirm the 4-6 month timeline and actually gave the impression it may be sooner (photo attached). I followed up At the 6 month mark and I was told they could not find my reservation in the system. After 20 min on hold I was told by the other sales manager, Sam, that I’ve been in line the whole time and this didn’t cause a delay - I was in their “paper file”, not the computer system. Hmm - not sure I’m buying that. I have called multiple times to check status since then and no one in the building seems to have any clue when one will be available. They have been telling me “soon” or “within the next month or so” for the last 3 months. They have also told me recently that they only get about 6-8 siennas a month and I’m still 35th in line….after 9 months. I haven’t been able to get a call back from the salesperson I originally worked with, Ricky, despite leaving a couple messages with the front desk. At no point in the last 9 months has anyone at Toyota been proactive in giving us a status update. To me, it feels like they don’t care if I get my order or not, as long as they sell their allotment the day it arrives. Wondering if I made a big mistake going with these guys…

I've only experienced the service offered at Libertyville Toyota AutoNation a couple times at this point. The first time, I had no complaints with the quality of service. I came in for a complimentary oil change and tire rotation, and those things were done in a reasonable amount of time. The second time, I came in for the same service. However, I wasn't so pleased with the quality of service. I had the service done just before a big trip. Come mid-trip, I thought I'd quickly check my oil only to find the dip stick was not fully inserted into its tube by the tech that presumably rushed my car through service. The reason I suspect the service was rushed was not only due to the fact that the simple motion of inserting a dip stick back into its tube was dismissed, but the window sticker and car computer for the next service interval also wasn't updated. I want to believe that this may be a simple slip up on a seemingly very busy day. At the same time though, having so many service commitments in a day to the point where my vehicle's service quality was sacrificed due to whatever reason is inexcusable. I should not have to worry about my engine ingesting salty mist from winter road spray and other potential forms of FOD through an improperly sealed orifice. While it's true that this incident isn't a grievous error, it also really makes you wonder what other corners the mechanics are cutting if they can't even reinsert a dip stick properly. Again, I'm hesitant to believe that this is the standard in terms of service quality at this location, but I would like to see the techs take more pride in their work and perhaps the service department book a few less appointments for the day such that the techs don't feel as rushed.

As of now, i have zero complaints. I took my vehicle here for the first time December of 2022 for an alignment and oil change. I was in and out in slightly under two hours. Did not see any damage to my vehicle after service as others have stated and the waiting area was clean, comfortable, and well lit. My Service Advisor was Verina and she was polite / friendly. I will say though that the air filter costs at this dealership are way out of wack. I spent $30 to buy both a cabin filter and engine filter and took me a minute to replace each one. At the dealer it would have been $120 or more to do that.

I had a headlight that was out. I called the day before to make sure that the headlight was in stock. It wasn't in stock but was ordered immediately. I called the next morning and to confirm whether the headlight was there. It was and I was told I could come anytime and that it would be a two hour wait whenever I got there. To my surprise it took a little over one hour. I was very pleased.

A very honest post :) I think the service consultants at Toyota Autonation have higher standards they adhere to for themselves than to I the Toyota owner. I was just in for my CHR's routine maintenance and had an appointment, but I booked the appointment near the lunch hour when an influx of appointments and drive-ins always occur. Rob, the consultant who always assists me, almost seemed apologetic that it was going to take about 90 minutes to complete the service. Firstly, I don't know how long the service is supposed to take, I am not a pro!, Secondly, I am the one to choose to wait at the dealership - I had other choices I could have made; and thirdly, the waiting area is very inviting - so poor me! It was the best time of quiet and comfort I have had in a long time! In ending, Rob always goes above and beyond to make my experience positive (Thank you, Rob!), the dealership offers a very nice area to relax, tend to work, or watch television if one should wait; and from the porter to the consultant, to the mechanic to every other person who is employed there - everyone is friendly, accommodating and attempt to make your visit a good one.

A big plus is that unlike other Toyota dealers we checked out, they do not add thousands of dollars to the sticker price as a dealership surcharge! Purchased a used 2022 Highlander with 10k miles. The test drive was fine but within 24 hours I started getting dashboard alerts for multiple system failures: AWD, power steering, ABS, and the driver assistance features. None of these problems were disclosed to me during the sale, but the car alert history showed that they had all been firing previously. I took the car in twice to their service department but they were unable to fix it.

Unexpectedly smooth and relatively quick transaction on selling my car. Prior to coming in I was very skeptical that the offer was legitimate after reading many scathing Autonation reviews online. It seems that the reviews are overwhelmingly concentrated in Florida an Texas and are not indicative of this Libertyville location. Monica was awesome to work with. She was upfront and did not pressure on trying to push buying a car. I would advise to try and work with her, she is quick, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The offer was less than the email, but I was expecting that. The final negotiated price however was still fair and significantly higher than CarMax, Vroom, and another dealership (30-40%). It was also a little better than Carvana (10%).

First time in my life on buying new car that I had a bad experience esp. my wife who was terrified by Kernan Mclaughlin (FM) and by Timothy Davidson last Friday (10/14/22). We're supposed to pick-up the Sienna we've ordered for almost a year but the purchase fell through. We came prepared w/ everything for the transaction (15k DP, pre-approved letter from 2 credit unions, title, 2 keys, 2 quotes for the clean van w/c we are about to trade and of course an excellent credit score to at least get a better interest rate. The FM doesn't want to accept the pre-approvals from the credit unions (w/c had significantly lower rates than TFS) for some reason and didn't even offer any other banks for loan approval aside from TFS only for some reason internal within the dealership nor beat the rate I got from 2 credit unions. I asked him if I can go back next day for the van so I can at least ask a bank for a pre-approval but he also refused and said it's only for tonight. He always brag that there's 13 other people waiting for that van when in fact I am ahead of them that he is pressuring me to get his offer. He brag that they don't charge over MSRP but they wont tell you that you have to get loan thru TFS only (w/c only offer high rates even w/ excellent credit and he even deceived me on the purchase order when I got distracted and listed Appearance Protection Package and 3-Year Dent Protection that I am not even asking. If there is only a way to attach the photo of the paperworks here then I would have done it. Dealerships got bad reps because of this kind of people.

I've been buying/servicing cars here for 12 years now. Have always been extremely happy with the service I've received. This was no different last night with Dmitri from Sales and Kiarnan from Finance. Both gentlemen were extremely efficient and helpful. No BS. Dmitri was well-prepared when I came in. I was trading in a 2019 RAV4 for a 2022 and Kiarnan made sure that process went as smoothly as possible. Very fair trade in value as well from the dealership. Fun fact: Kiarnan was my sales guy for the 2019 RAV4 3-1/2 years ago so good to see him still at the dealership. For the service dept. see Mauricio. Love that guy. The salesmen are ok. Some better than others. I bought 3 cars here. Each time they sent me to finish the transaction with a Yugoslavian guy who would not let us out the door unless we purchased $3,500.00 extended warranty which the one and only time time I bought it did not cover any of the repairs and was useless and a complete waste of money for us. I paid cash each time and wanted to be out the door in 5 minutes. This guy kept trying to sell extras and add ons for 2 to 3 hours each time. The last time my husband said forget it give me back my check and he finally stopped. I am not sure I would purchase from them again because of this horrible hassle and torture.

Mobi was great. My 2022 Highlander is a great car. Easy to drive and very comfortable. When my wife and I had some time we started to go over the financial paperwork. Much to our surprise we were charged $619 for an Appearance Protection-3 yr and $639 for a dent protection plan under the heading of Dealer Added Equipment. At the bottom of the notice was *Dealer added optional equipment no required for vehicle purchase or to obtain financing. Next paragraph; **These product(s) accessory(s) are not provided by the vehicles manufacturer and are not covered by the vehicles warranty coverage. The products/accessories are backed by the Dealership and the warranty provided by the product manufacturer. At no time during the purchasing process was I informed of these dealer add ons I was never informed and given the opportunity to refuse this extra charge. At the final. At the final paperwork signing I was told of warranty packages that I could obtain. They were explained fully in detail. These packages I refused. But at least I was informed of them and the costs explained. The dealer added equipment, worth $1,258, was never explained to me or was given the chance to refuse these add ons. I will further pursue obtaining a refund.

Terrible experience at Toyota Libertyville. We booked a car 4 months back. Wait time communicated to us was 3-4 months. They took $2500 deposit instantly but so far do not provide any updates. I have to keep chasing there sales person on phone, still no response. Now after being frustrated we requested refund of the initial deposit ($2500) for which we were told that your refund has been processed. We never received the money back. Now when I call dealership they keep saying the it’s being processed for last 10 days. When I asked them to send me an acknowledgment email for refund, they just ignored the request. Never buy from them!

I recently bought my new suv from toyota auto nation, Libertyville. So far, it has been a delight working with them. Prior to auto nation, I have been associated with another toyota dealer. I had lost trust with them while servicing my older car. When it came to buy my suv, I thought of trying auto nation. There sales person, Dmytro, gave me a time frame of 3 to 4 months and assurred msrp price. I was provided with regular updates by him until I received the car before even completion of 4th month. Also, no surprises on the pricing and I got the car on msrp. I must say, auto nation restored my toyota trust. I would strongly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new or used toyotas.

Be carefull. This dealer likes to include usually unnecessary dealer services that are not recommended by Toyota in their list of Toyota recommended maintenance items. You shouldn't take the service writers statements for granted. You should check requirements listed in your Toyota "WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE GUIDE". I offered to pay cash. Didn’t help. New computer software took way too long to process. They did bring the car to my home on Monday. Oh, on Monday I had to resign papers. They do their best to serve you, explain things, and make you comfortable. Plus they have great cars. However, they are still car salesmen. They try like hell - repeatedly- to get you to finance a car even though you want to pay cash. They will lowball you on the trade-in to see if they have a sucker on their hands. Get another bid on your car and don't be afraid to take their deal and sell your car to CarMax. (They will also lie to you about CarMax too). Once they are convinced you aren't taking their ridiculous offer, they will give you a fair price. Be prepared for a 3.5 hour transaction for cash deals. Overall, good experience but they ain't your friends.

Took vehicle to get a bolt taken out of the tire. They claimed to fix it and it could easily get 5-10k miles. Too bad it didn’t even go 50 miles. Very disappointed with the deceit of the service people. They should all get retained! I will be demanding a refund! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE!!!!

One of the worst overall customer service experiences I've ever received. I had to edit this from my last experience here because of how awful my experience has been the second time around. I had previously leased a Toyota Carolla through Autonation and as soon as I was six months out from the end of my lease I was reached out to about ending my lease early and getting myself in a new car. I obliged and went in to Autonation to go over my options. Communication was constant and consistent during this process. Upon buying a new vehicle I made it clear to Monica (who was our salesperson) that I would like all weather mats included in the purchase of the vehicle and she told me that would be absolutely no problem and she would personally make sure that happened but they did not have any available at the moment. Upon receiving the "We owe you" paperwork I noticed the all weather mats weren't on there and questioned her about why they weren't there. She was adamant that she would take care of it and I would receive them. We wrote this down on our own notepad, and my fiance was with me for verification. I was also owed a window tinting and a check for just under $2,500. I kept in touch with Monica about my all weather mats over email and she told me she would let me know when they arrived. I scheduled my window tinting with 3 different people, all of which made it clear to me that the window tint guy only came in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I reluctantly took a day off of work in the middle of the week and drive an hour to go down there on a Tuesday only to be told that the guy only comes on Wednesdays. I was told to either come back on a Wednesday or they would credit my account the amount of the tinting. Luckily I was able to get my windows tinted that day because it was Autonation's mistake, but it wasn't without a huge hassle and fight on my end. During my visit I asked about the status of my all weather floor mats as it had already been a month since I bought my car, but was told since they were not on my "We owe you" paperwork that I would not receive them. I told them that Monica personally told me she would make sure I received them as a part of the deal. After speaking with Monica, he told me she said that they weren't on the "We owe you" sheet and they wouldn't give them to me, interesting considering I asked for them to be put on the we owe you sheet and she told me not to worry about it and she would take care of it. Communication ever since I bought my car has been almost impossible. You can't get a hold of anyone, always get sent to voice-mail, never to have your calls returned. Emails are sent and either never opened or never responded to. There was a point in time I've called for 2 weeks straight never to get a response. I've been waiting for over 2 months on the equity check from Autonation after being told originally it would only take 30 days. I've finally been able to get a hold of multiple different finance members, including the director on multiple occasions and were told one thing about the timing of when I'd receive my check only for it to never happen. Here I am over 2 months since the purchase of my car, still waiting on my equity check (that should have been here weeks ago according to finance) and super disappointed in the lack of communication and overall customer service experience I've had while dealing with Autonation.

The vehicle I purchased seemed to be priced fairly but the salesman was poorly prepared for me after contacting him online and expressing my interest in seeing the vehicle 5 days prior. The vehicle I purchased was a convertible and the salesman had no idea how get the top down nor little else about the vehicles "bells and whistles". It took 3 hours and 45 minutes to finally drive away from the lot.

The service dept screwed me out of sick time. 2 days. Brought my 20 Rav4 in for scheduled service, my tire was flat the next day. The valve stem was screwed up. A little more than a week later the car wont start. It is garage kept and had been driven a day prior. They told me there was an update that the car needed. This update (EL1934) is like 2 years old. They wait for these cars not to start and then install the update. I really dont care what Toyotas policy is, I got horrible customer service from Autonation. Avoid this dealership.

I purchased a Toyota AutoCare plan with my vehicle purchase on September 23rd for $545 from KYLE HINENI. I immediately factored in the math and came in the next day to cancel, I was made to wait for 3 hours marking the start of the mouse and cat race. I was then told by KYLE to have the request emailed since he was unable to do anything despite having paid in full with a credit card. A SIMPLE REFUND TO the method of payment should have sufficed but NO. I have been emailing, requesting an update with ZERO to MINIMAL updates from the STEALERSHIP with it being OVER 5 months! I started my experience over the phone. I was able to place an order for the car I wanted and start the paper work in the matter of 15 minuets. The dealer was in constant communication with me with the state of my car. In person, the people who I dealt with were friendly, nice, and respectful. Bait and switch (price). Be wary of this dealership. I inquired about a truck and was sent the price and details of the truck as normal. I then proceeded to get additional information about the truck in preparation to purchase it. After what seemed an odd amount of time to wait on information. Typically, dealers are anxious to get the deal done, I was sent additional information which had the the prices of the truck raised by almost $3000 dollars. I am starting to see why the re was such a delay now. Bottom line without making the story drawn out, I was told the price of the truck was in error. I had been following this truck for almost two weeks or so when all was said and done. I don't believe there was any error and if there was then someone should be in trouble for letting it go that long. I wouldn't trust this dealership at all. They raise the prices after inquiry. This was a classic story of bait and switch in my opinion. I have pictures of the truck and price advertised before they raised it on me after my inquiry to prove this along with emails. Signed an agreement and put down a deposit for a car. Was told "we had multiple customers lose cars scheduled to be built. Luckily, your vehicle was produced". Was misinformed multiple times throughout the process, being told that my vehicle was currently being shipped here from CA, etc., when that was not true. Multiple times what I was told was not true. Multiple times when I would reach out I wouldn't hear from anyone for a while, or would receive conflicting information. I never ended up receiving the vehicle, someone else bought it. I am giving this 1-star rating fully understanding what is going on globally with vehicles, due to a lack of trust based on this nightmare of an experience.

My fiancé and I were referred to Autonation Toyota by Costco. While we went in looking for a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, after learning about the insanity of the current car market, Rick helped us find a wonderful used Lexus NX 300h. Both Rick (who assisted us with finding the right car to purchase) and Dillon (who assisted us with paperwork process) did an excelsior job and provided us with excelsior customer service. Unfortunately, there was a glitch in their electronic system and our payment of tens of thousands of dollars was withdrawn from our bank account but never showed up on Autonation’ end. As a result, we had to file a claim with Chase to take care of the issue (instead of Autonation resolving the issue on their end). It took an additional ten days that we had not expected to have a rental car that we needed to pay for nor had we anticipated staying at my fiancé’s parents home even longer but c’est la vie. It was a breeze to bring in the cashiers check and pickup our new car. The reason why I gave them three stars instead of five is predominately because after we purchased and picked up our car, everyone at the dealership that we had worked with became incredibly difficult to get ahold of and wouldn’t return our calls and messages from my fiancé and my self to procure the paperwork from purchasing our car and the extended warranty that we paid for. While the process of selecting and purchasing our new car went well. As soon as we purchased our new car, the customer service provided by this dealership became non-existent. Which I find incredibly disheartening because up until that point, everything went so well. It is also strange that the dealership didn’t offer us an apology or any sort of compensation or discount for the fiasco with their card payment system.

I took my car in when the engine light was on. I have 42,000 miles on my 2018 Highlander and an extended warranty. I dropped off my car and went to the office. I received a call from the service department and they told me I had bad gas and it was urgent to fix the problem and the warranty does not cover it. The cost of repairs was $1400. I spoke to Exxon Mobile and they said it is unheard of to get gas at the pump and it was bad. I did file a complaint with them and I spoke to other mechanics and they all said that the last time they heard of this was 25 years ago or more and if it's true then why was the warranty not honored. I have bought many cars from Toyota in Libertyville but to be honest even though they gave me a sample of the gas how do I know where they got it from. To be honest even if it's true which I'm doubtful of it's a 1 in 10 billion chance and the gas station I go to is so busy you need to wait sometimes to get a pump for gas so I will be calling them today. Has anybody heard of anyone getting bad gas from a gas pump recently. I fill my car twice a week so it does not sit with old gas in it. My email is mshless@aol.com

I brought my Sienna in for a routine service, it turned out to be an 6-hour staying (waiting in the facility) for the whole services. I was told that it could take 1.5 - 2 hours for additional tire changes with alignment. But, something was not going right for the works. At least I know they had to re-do the alignment. I have been a long-time loyal customer, but this service changed my mind! (1) I found there were many dirty greasy footprints on the carpet in the back seats area??? (2) The engine won't start two days later??? (I had no such problem for the last 4 years.) (3) The cap for brake fluid reservoir was left aside not been put back on the reservoir. (4) They lost bolt and nut for my engine air filter housing, and replaced with a plastic cable tie??? (5) They promised me a car wash which did not happen??? I wonder how these things happened to this dealership where I went for years without any issues??? Please give me a reason (any reason) why should I come back???

I went to Autonation Libertyville Toyota for over 10 years and moved away. When I returned to Illinois I went out of my way to have my Camry serviced there. I was very disappointed to find that they did not really want my business, trying to upsell me for services before inspecting my car and then charging me for tire rotations...after I spent over $900 on my tires at another Toyota dealer in a different state. Customer loyalty is meaningless to this dealership.

On May 6th 2021 my husband Ricardo Estrada and I Martha Vazquez sold our 2018 Jeep Wrangler to this establishment. We were leasing our Jeep through Chrysler Financial, we provided the dealership with all the information needed to payoff the vehicle but it is June 14 2021 and the vehicle is still not paid off. I've tried multiple times to speak with the sales and finance managers at the Libertyville location but they seem to toss the blame to AutoNation Corporate, I call corporate and corporate is unable to answer any questions or respond to my calls or emails. The business actually sold my car and even then they have no apparent intention to pay off the car to submit the title to its new owner. Meanwhile I am still obligated to make payments and have accrued late fees due to their negligence and putting mine and my husbands credit score at risk. I keep getting told a new check will be reissued by finance manager Cam, and corporate and still nothing.

I bought my new Rav4 hybrid at Autonation two years ago. Was looking for used, but had to buy new as no used RAV4 hybrids were available at any dealerships within a 50 mile radius. Autonation Service Dept has been good. When I call, am able to make regular maintenance appointments for same day or next day. They usually have finished my car within 15 minutes of estimated elapsed time, when I have waited for the car to be completed. This time, they took much longer. It may have been because I was nearly 15 minutes late for the appointment, which would have impacted their workload. After 30 minutes beyond the estimated time had elapsed, I went to Service reception to find out status. My car was ready 2 minutes later. They apologized for the extra wait time. It seemed likely it was ready earlier, but the communication to me in the waiting area was missed.

It was irritating as he could not even promise what he said just before or at least lack of explaining skill. Finally I just paid and came out. It was worst experience. I wish it were a better car purchase experience considering the fact that that was out 7th car purchased at AutoNation. I guess loyalty doesn't really matter for the management of this dealership, since we were told that nothing can be done on lowering the price of the car and trade-in car appraisal sounded like a rip-off. Now I feel like we should've just walked away but the magnitude of a new beauty and lapse of judgement stopped us from doing that.

I called to make a service appointment with Mr Jim Lyken, our outstanding service advisor for nearly 20 years. I was told, however, Jim had retired. While I was very happy for Jim, I was a bit concerned about finding a new service advisor. Fortunately, Mary at the office recommended Mr Carlos Almanza as our new service advisor. Carlos and his team of mechanics did a great job on both our old Camry and Avalon. They both are running as new. My wife and I are very pleased with the major and routine service and repairs. This time my only "problem" is that the GPS is telling me my map updates are expiring soon and was unable to get info on how to purchase map updates. Thought is if I pressed OK to the notification it would tell me what to, where to purchase but that didn't work. Still trying to figure that out. Facilities...chairs could use updating. Upholstery is looking rather tattered.

Libertyville Toyota is a very good dealership. I am treated well by staff and Toyota makes great vehicles. For many years I have had my eye on the Avalon. About a month ago I brought my 2003 Camry in for service. There was a gleaming, pristine, blizzard pearl 2018 Avalon in the lot. Long story short, by the end of the day, it was mine. My salesman (Alexander), the sales manager and finance manager made it an easy buying experience. I was a little sad to part with my beloved Camry (I have owned three Camrys) but it was time. No one pushed me or tried to talk me into anything. These vehicles sell themselves. I would recommend this dealership.

I do not advise anyone to go to this dealership. Here you cheat on interest, add additional guarantees without your consent. So it was with me. I bought a car, agreed on one price, and in the end they slipped me to sign an agreement for an amount that is $ 10,000 more than we agreed on. 6 months have passed. They do not make contact. They do not return money. They don't do anything. And they also took money for tinted glass, but the glass was not tinted. Worst dealership there can be !!! Go around and never go there !!!

I went in there with a list of things that don't always work as they should. For instance, my Bluetooth doesn't always connect for phone/audio. My rear cargo doesn't always open at the push of the button. I understand that it is hard to diagnose when things are working properly, but Robert made me feel as if I'm imagining these things and I'm an idiot for suggesting they fix them (they worked when they diagnosed). My steering wheel is rubbing on the column (there are rub marks) and he tells me it's fine and could be from honking the horn too much. I've probably honked less than 10 times in the 7 years I've owned the car. Ridiculous. Am I supposed to drive there when my radio is not connecting or my cargo won't open? Very frustrating.

I returned to have the rattle taken care of and they charged me for the service visit. I was beyond appalled that you would change me to make a repair on a vehicle I purchased from you 48 hours ago.

Sales people and management has changed, but the core philosophy has always been to make sure the customer is satisfied. I always research vehicle's from different manufactures and models before we decide on buying a new car. I find that the Toyota product meets our needs for a new car.

Stopped in recently to look at a 4Runner. These guys offered me $32K trade in on a 2020 F250 with 5,000 miles on it. New price was at $51,500. Additionally I overheard the sales manager and his buddies say “people trading in trucks go for a Tundra not a 4Runner” If they cared to ask, I was in a car accident recently which totaled my 2016 Ram, leaving me with injuries. Since I’m limited in what I can physically do now, I was considering trading it in. Won’t do business with this dealer due to the insult on trade offer and overall disrespect.

After our regular servicing was done, the technician came to the waiting room to tell us we needed a new battery. He said the new battery would be installed immediately, and he would let us know when the installation was finished. After waiting an additional hour for the new battery to be installed, we finally went to the service desk to ask what was delaying our car. The person on the desk told us OUR service representative had gone to lunch. (OOppps, sorry!) In the era of COVID, and considering my husband has Parkinson's and walks with a cane, we were more than upset. Sorry that lunch precluded someone telling us our car was finished. This was simply not excusable!!!

I have been a customer at Auto Nation Toyota in Libertyville close to 20 years. I have a Toyota Camry now and my previous car was a Toyota Camry and I bought my daughter a used Toyota Camry all from this dealership. The main reason I keep going back is the service on my car. I get oil changes every 5,000 miles and they do the free maintenance check to see if everything is okay. If it is not, they will tell me what I need. They keep track of radiator flushes, power steering fluid changes, transmission fluid changes , brake fluid changes and other things when they should be done. They are honest about it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been going there for almost 20 years.

My husband and I were disappointed at the lack of action from the staff to remind/ensure guests were following COVID-safe protocol, such as wearing their masks. One guest sitting in front of us in the waiting room had his mask down while talking on the phone. He could have stepped outside to talk without a mask, but he didn't. We alerted a staff member, but it took several minutes for anyone to approach the guest. We saw four other guests far from us (but close to others) who had pulled their masks down, and no one was approaching them. Staff seemed oblivious, despite the signage all around the facility that requires guests to wear masks and promises a COVID-safe facility. I was also perturbed that when I scheduled the appt., I was told the service would take 60 - 75 minutes. When I got there, the man at the desk told me 90 minutes to two hours! So, I had to reschedule my next (unrelated) appt. Then, it did indeed only take an hour, so I had to reschedule my next appt. again for the original time - just glad that it was still open. This was a hassle.

Completed an inspection and a oil/filter change. Recommended a new battery then altered the recommendation once I brought to their attention that a Toyota lifetime battery was installed. Hopefully no issues with using the lifetime battery option when needed. Requested a second run through of the car wash due to leaves and branches on the car.

I have been doing business at AutoNation in Libertyville since 2002. I have had excellent experiences with the Service Dept. They have always Been extremely honest with me and have never tried to over sell anything. I bought a 2002 4Runner which I put over 200,000 miles. It never leaked one drop of oil and everything still worked. When I bought my 2017 Tacoma I gave the 4Runner to my son. I love my truck. It is the first time with heated seats and dual heater controls and they have really worked well for my family.

Sales Rep responded to my quote request (email) very promptly, and came in at the lower price of 4 total dealers. Don helped us with our purchase and the entire experience, while long, (this may be just the process/financing) was informative and well-handled. I have forgotten the fellas name who handled the warranty explanation and presented all the paperwork to sign, but he was also friendly and efficient. Everyone was really nice, helpful and friendly. I purchased my first new car 16 years ago from Toyota Libertyville and I am very glad they responded to my quote request so quickly, and at a reasonable price. We came in and Mobi was helping us. We told him exactly what we wanted and how much we wanted to pay. He wasn?t very helpful. He was trying to get us to pay way more than what we wanted. We told him thank you for the help and we will pass. After that he seemed more interested in selling us the vehicle so he made it to what we wanted. My husband was on the phone with insurance and it was talking a bit. Mobi seemed annoyed and started helping other customers and ponded is off to someone else.

My husband and I just moved to the Chicagoland area from Denver in August and realized that not only did we not need two cars, but it would be better for us to get a car that would be able to handle the snow and cold here. While my 2017 all wheel drive RAV4 would have been fine, we were not confident in my husband?s 2016 Corolla and knew we wouldn?t drive it frequently, even in the summer. We anticipated that it might be a problem to trade two cars in for one, but our salesperson George, our finance manager, and the GM Jeff Sawyer made the process as quick and as smooth as possible. Lastly, I believe it?s worth noting that we live an hour away from AutoNation Toyota Libertyville but specifically were searching for an AutoNation Toyota dealership to buy from because that?s who we have always bought from and trusted. It?s safe to say that the service is always excellent no matter what state you live in.

Terrible experience. They misdiagnosed the issue with my Scion TC. I had told them the temperature gauge was going up. They replaced coils and we had the same issue as soon as we left the service center. When we took it back they said the engine was blown.

There were details with change over of a title that needed to happen to trade in old car. I did what was necessary and then was told there were more things to do after the fact. Bought the new car. Windshield wiper is broken. And it’s missing a piece on the door. Keep in mind the car had 9 miles when I bought it. So within 2 mins of driven it off the lot I have to go back for maintenance

Has to reschedule as the part was on back order. I was told on phone entire gas tank had to emptied so I was trending to have as little gas in tank as possible. I get call, part is on back order so I put more gas into tank. One day later I get call stating part is in. Good thing I did not fill up tank. When I go to drop off car (Thursday evening) there are three people working at a desk, two people on the phone one of which has his feet up on the desk next to where I was being helped. Thanks for the size 12?s in my face, sir! Person who did help me was great. Got my car back next day, I get in and it smells like a mechanic slept in my car overnight. The smell of gas and oil was overpowering, had to drive with windows down entire day.

Horrible waited over 3 hours for an oil change. Saw people just walking around constantly - after an hour I wanted to get my car back so I could leave and wasn't given my car - said the car was on the rack AFTER ANOTHER HOUR said the car was still on the rack - - - -BEGINNING OF THE THIRD HOUR was told my car was being washed which I didn't care I just wanted to leave. Never going back and needless to say will let others know of this experience if asked.

The only problem that I had was to pick up the car, and waiting for the car to be brought to me. We waited in a one person line for 10 minutes only to be told not to go to the cashier but to go back to the original service writer. After all that, the price we were quoted was wrong and we had to wait for the service provider that we dealt with for 10 minutes and then waited 15 minutes to get my car. It was very time consuming and we were late 10 minutes for an appointment somewhere else.

I have taken my car in for service once and just recently a recall. The initial service was fine and the staff is very nice. They did suggest that I needed new tires soon. At the recall service, they were also nice and professional, but quoted me $800 for the 30k mile maintenance 🤦♀️. I called around and can get the same service for less than half at other Toyota service centers. Also, my same tires checked out ok this time and did not need replacement🤷🏻♀️. Please do your research and ask questions for agreeing to repairs and maintenance. Unfortunately, we won’t return. We need a service center that is honest and trustworthy.

Overall i was satisfied. Still don't understand how it takes 2 hours to change the oil and rotate the tires. Made an appointment at 9am and didn't leave till 11am. I was asked when i got there if i wanted a car wash and i said yes. They asked me again for some reason when i went to pick up the car and was told i would have to wait again. Why ask? Just wash the car and then tell me it's ready.

BEWARE OF WHAT AUTONATION IS TRYING TO SELL YOU!!! I went in to look at what was advertised as a 2017 Highlander Limited Platinum. After dealing with the salesman who was boasting about what a GREAT deal this is for a Limited Platinum & was pushing for some papers to be signed, I stepped out to look at the car again. After a second look, I noticed that the car didn't have any of the Platinum features (panoramic moon roof, heated steering wheel, 2nd row heated seats). So I looked up the vin and found out that's it's just a Limited, not Limited Platinum. After bringing it up to the salesman, he tried to tell me that the Platinum doesn't come with all features (which doesn't make any sense). He then got testy after he was shown on the Toyota website what a Platinum includes. I strongly suggest steering away from this dealership that deals dirty.

I’ve taken my 2 Tacoma’s and 4Runner for service and it’s the same BS. Figured I’d give them another chance by taking my 4Runner but should’ve just went to Classic instead.

I normally go to Classic toyota in Waukegan to bring my car in for maintenance but since I was in the area, why don't give it a try. First they asked me if I make an appointment which I didn't because I always walked in when I go to Classic toyota but they were able to put me in anyway. After they finished my car, I noticed that they didn't wash my car which Classic toyota always do. I was little upset but I had to go to work so I just left without asking them. This is probably going to be my first time and my last time.

My visit to Libertyville Toyota was my worst experience at a car dealer ever. I went there to have a duplicate key made. First, I had to wait an hour to get an estimate. Then the worker told me it would cost more than $620. Then, he wanted $42 because he made a key that only opened the doors of the car, but did not start the car. When I said that I had to pay to get my car back, I fumed and complained to the manager. Eventually they gave my car back without a charge after two hours. I was enraged. I then went to Northbrook Toyota and they did the same service for $320. My conclusion: do not go to Libertyville Toyota ever again.

The service here has gone down hill since Dave borre left. My dad has been screwed over 3 times so far since then. From oil caps left off the car and getting EMAILED about the mistake rather then being called to not returning his calls about his truck needing a battery replaced. Service could give 2 sh*ts about you or how long you wait. Then to slap you in the face the remove you from the email list so you can’t give them the feedback they need. This place is a joke, much rather just go to Waukegan Toyota at this point.

We were out car shopping yesterday. Visited 4 dealerships and all were helpful answering questions and letting us test drive vehicles. This dealership was the third one we visited and it was a joke. We spent 45 minutes there walking around looking at vehicles and not one sales person approached us. Plenty of sales people were available... I even made eye contact with a couple of them, but they chose not to approach me. I have one basic rule ... if they don’t show interest, I will not approach them. With that said we did purchase a car from another dealership yesterday and I will never return to this dealership in the future because of this experience.

Loved working with AutoNation. Our sales rep Tom Peterson is the best. After our first test drive he didn't pressure us. It took me a week to get back to the dealership and wrap it up. In that time he waited for my cue. I really appreciate the lack of high pressure. The whole process from walking into the sales room to financing was incredibly easy. I would buy from them again.

We had a blowout with our 2017 Prius on I94 nearby and called AutoNation Toyota Libertyville from the highway while getting assistance from Transportation. We explained our situation and when we got the donut on, we headed over, feeling somewhat frazzled with this holiday complication. Just as we always experience in our hometown Toyota World in Newark, Delaware, we were put at ease by the service rep and ended up replacing our entire set of tires and getting an alignment at a decent price. They fit us in, even thought they were busy and finished with a car wash. The waiting lounge was comfortable and inviting. We love our 2 Priuses (2006 & 2017), and are very satisfied with Toyota service. Thanks.

I had a really bad experience with the service department .. this was my case ,Brian recommended a fuel injectors cleaning, also a throttle service , I agreed , but at the end they delivered my Highlander with the check engine on and problem with the hybrid system . They put it back for “l according to them to reset the software .BUT THEY FORGOT TO TIGHT DE INTAKE HOSE BOLTS ...check engine came back .. very unprofessional “.
